Chan Kung: Xiong'an’s Space Problem
ANBOUND
Xiong'an’s space problem has definitely been deliberated over during the planning and preparation stages of its development. However, based on my experience in city-development, there are a few risks that need to be taken heed of, the first of which is transportation network planning. Considering that big cities like Beijing, Tianjin, and Xiong’an are facing space issues, it is not feasible for Xiong’an to set up another major transportation network, rather, its best bet will be to become China’s secondary transportation hub so as to refine the development of magnetic levitation technology as well as to better complement Daxing International Airport. Secondly, it is important to control the cost of developing the space in the city. In conclusion, infrastructure is needed to attract the central economy, and low-cost accommodation with a diverse living space is needed to attract innovative and entrepreneurial youth; capital and standard are needed to attract the preferred industries.
