Chan Kung: How should Xiong'an handle its two biggest problems?
ANBOUND
The issues with the local farmers and land must be resolved immediately in order for construction in Xiong'an to proceed smoothly. On this matter, Anbound’s chief researcher, Chan Kung, is of the opinion that it is best to reserve a few plots of empty land for the farmers of Xiong’an. At the same time, one or more government funds could be established to provide aid in the form of compensation, training, and assistance to the farmers as they adapt to the process of urbanisation. With this problem solved, how can we also ensure that Hebei’s economy can also benefit from this? In order to achieve this, we must strike a balance between the population and land use. If Xiong’an’s land policy can generate a certain amount of profit, there will be a shift of capital to Hebei, and by creating some paradigm shifts through efforts such as the implementation of new systems, new practices along with new policies can be introduced, and Hebei is bound to follow suit.
