What China can learn from Japan's measures to reduce labor shortage
ANBOUND
Japan has experienced decades of low fertility rates since the 1960s, and now facing grim aging situation, the Japanese government is appealing women and the elderly to participate in the labor market, introducing automated robots, as well as bringing in more skilled overseas labor and other measures to solve this problem. Although the measures are still unable to solve labor shortage, they have achieved initial success. China is facing aging problem as well, though the country's women participation in the labor market is relatively high; China is also delaying the retirement to increase the labor force. The robot industry is also vigorously developing, but the degree of aging is still increasing. Therefore, we believe that the measures taken by Japan can help China to focus on this issue from multiple perspectives.
