Georges Dassis, chairman of the European Economic and Social Commission, has expressed the jope of increasing "effective" investment in Africa by the EU countries and reduce the size and number of illegal immigrants in Europe today. According to Anbound's research team, Dassis's call for increased investment in Africa is exactly what China is doing, and that the Belt and Road Initiative covers many African countries. It can be said that China's efforts indirectly help the European countries to cope with the refugee flows. From this perspective, it is necessary for China and the EU to strengthen their cooperation in Africa and jointly increase their "effective" investments in Africa. European countries like Britain and France and other countries have the advantage of having long-term business in Africa; to some extent they have a better understanding of specific countries and regions compares with Chinese-funded enterprises.
