2017 is the 25th anniversary of Deng Xiaoping delivering his speeches during his Southern Tour; this is also the year where the Chinese socio-economic development is facing great uncertainties. We believe that that it is of great significance to revisit Deng Xiaoping's speeches and there is the need to "seek truth from facts" for China's reform and development in the future: 1. Reform is productivity. 2. One should be bolder in carrying out reform and opening up. 3. Reform should not be trapped in issues pertaining to socialism or capitalism. 4. One should maintain a clear mind in the struggles between right-wing and the left-wing. 5. Getting rich together. 6. Development is the absolute principle. 7. Science and technology are the foremost productivity.
