Chan Kung: China's standards need to consider globalized standards as well
ANBOUND
Our modern society is a society of standards, especially in modern life-related services and product manufacturing. In recent years, China has made progress in setting-up standards, trying to establish its own standards in globalization. These standards relate to efficiency, but also to openness and globalization. In this regard, there are generally two options for China, one is setting its own standards and allowing others to join in; another is joining others'. The first option is generally what China chooses yet sometimes this is not workable, and it contradicts with globalization. Unless China's market volume has absolute advantage, this would be just a one-man show. China still needs to treat globalization and its standards with a cooperative attitude.
