Chinese Foreign Ministry has announced that President Xi Jinping will visit Switzerland from January 15 to 18 to attend the annual World Economic Forum in Davos in 2017 and give a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. Anbound Think Tank has been tracking President Xi's attendance at the Davos Forum and will next highlight the focus of China's participation. We have previously pointed out that President Xi's participation in the Davos Forum is of strategic mission importance; the first would be promoting globalization and the second would be seeking for new strategic cooperation with Europe. If the strategic opportunities are well grasped, this would be an important chance for China to participate deeper in the global governance system.
