Chinese central government to improve consumption market
ANBOUND
On October 14, during the meeting of the State Council, it was pointed out that the Chinese government should reform and innovate the consumption sector, especially in the service industry to provide effective supply, improve areas of weakness to benefit the public and to promote economic development. Anbound research team believes that under current situation, the slowdown in household income growth, the lack of a social security system, and high housing prices have weakened the purchasing power. At the same time, domestic enterprises are unable to meet the consumer demand, forcing a large number of people turning their attention to overseas markets. Although the central government has introduced a lot of measures to stimulate consumption growth, the domestic consumer market will maintain a slow growth trend in the near future. Many retailers will see a tougher time ahead, and this is evident in the closure of many departmental stores.
