US might impose trade sanctions on Chinese aluminium industry
ANBOUND
Recently, the United States Department of Commerce adds more trade duties on the export of China's steel products like stainless steel, cold-rolled plates and corrosion-resistant steel. China has noticed the problem of over-production of the aluminium industry, but does not agree the claim that China’s domestic demand is experiencing slowdown and is exporting huge amount of aluminium to the United States. The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has launched an investigation of aluminium trade in April, and the hearing of United States International Trade Commission (USITC) was held on September 29. We suggest the Chinese aluminium industry to pay attention on the current development, as based on the previous experience, the United States is likely to impose sanctions on the Chinese aluminium industry.
