China's export of high-speed rail to ASEAN remains passive
ANBOUND
For China, the Greater Mekong Sub-regional Railway project is crucial transport and trade link, bridging China and more than 600 million people in Southeast Asia, and holds significance in realizing China's Belt and Road Initiative strategy. However, there have been some delays in China-Thailand project, and in the China-Laos Railway Project; all these show that China’s high speed train export in ASEAN countries is still not ideal, as the ASEAN countries appear to be hesitating in determining the agreement. The price of China's high-speed rail is reasonable, and sometimes the offer comes with favorable financing conditions, yet this has not changed the passive situation of China’s high speed rail export.
