The issue of employment is a "quasi-political problem" in China, which is becoming increasingly important in the development goals of the Chinese government. But we estimate that if the Chinese economy maintains the "L-shaped growth", within a short period of time the trend of pay-cut will be more common. As economic growth is the source of steady employment and wage rise, if there is no economic growth (either on the basis of expansion or innovation), businesses will encounter problems and unemployment will increase; wages will be reduced sooner or later. Chinese society should be well-prepared to face the forthcoming trend of unemployment and pay-cut.
