Increasing Number of Vacant High-End Office Buildings Indicates Shrinking of Service Industry
ANBOUND

Real estate agencies have issued a warning saying that there will be a considerable number of vacant work premises in Shanghai in the next 18 months, and because the withdrawal of several internet lending companies from the market, the number of vacant offices will reach a new high.

It seems to ANBOUND Consulting that the increase in vacant high-end office buildings in Shanghai is an important indicator that the current demand for office spaces has reached its peak and is beginning to go downhill.

Previously, there was 10% of new demand from internet financial institutions, but since this bubble has burst, the real demand is now apparent.

It is worth noting that the situation of office space rental reflects the changes in the service industry: when there is an economic downturn, the real demand from the development of the service industry is represented by excluding the demand from internet financial institutions.

If the vacancies of office spaces have a wider scope, it will indicate that Shanghai's service industry is shrinking.

But in reality, it is not only Shanghai that is such; Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen are similar too.
