In 2016, China's economy should guard against a repeat of the 1998 incident!
The longitudinal research conducted by the research team at ANBOUND Consulting shows that in 2016, both the internal and external environment in China is similar to that of 1998 – not only that China is at the bottom of the economic cycle, its economy is in free fall following the earlier rapid growth.
Externally, the financial crisis has worsened the development environment in China. Internally, China is undergoing the complex and painful internal restructuring as well as coping with the increased bad-loan ratio.
In face of the similar historical events, in 2016, China’s economy might face unprecedented challenges.
This requires the high-level decision-makers, the leaders of administrative departments and policy departments at all level to be more vigilant when addressing the challenges in 2016 which are rather unusual.
