The recently exposed scandal of poisonous running track in schools is yet another negative example after the 2008 poisonous milk powder incident, of which the problems in Beijing are particularly serious.

Firstly, there are many such incidents which occurred frequently in Beijing. Secondly, the relevant authorities were slow in their reaction and they handled the issues inappropriately. Thirdly, there is a lack of sufficient understanding on the seriousness of the problems at hand.

Children are the nation's future and hope, they are the important assets of the nation and we are supposed to keep them safe and healthy.

To be frank, we are so far behind from achieving this.

Beijing should feel ashamed for failing to protect children, causing them to suffer as a result of the poisonous track.
