Not only that the Wei Zexi's incident has exposed Baidu's practice of ranking medical information search results by the amount paid by advertisers, it has also highlighted the problems behind the Putian network of private healthcare providers.

ANBOUND’s research team is of the view that the development of Putian Medical Group and the problems associated with Putian network of private healthcare providers is far from being an easy one, even if the regulatory departments want to regulate the Putian network of private healthcare providers, it might be harder than they realize. If they dig further into this scandal, it might cause three 'bombs’ to explode:

(i)Putian-run hospitals and clinics;

(ii)The investors and financial institutions linked to Putian; and

(iii)China’s healthcare system and management institutions.

Do the relevant authorities have the courage to investigate these?

To what extent the authorities will investigate?

The most important thing is, does the Chinese authority has the ability to resolve those problems and come out with a workable solution to reform the healthcare system?

This is the crux of the problem.
