The Internationalization and the Prospect of China

In the context of the global economic downturn, it is particularly 'dazzling' that the Bank of China is moving its headquarter to a new 136-meter-tall building in the middle of Manhattan, New York.
The move reflects the bank's burgeoning business in the U.S. and marks the rapid development of Chinese bank in international market.
ANBOUND’s research team is of the view that in light of the narrowing interest margins and the worsening non-performing loan, there is a bigger incentive for the Chinese banks to expand their business abroad.
But the degree of internationalization of domestic banks remain low, more efforts should be done to strengthen the business in the countries along the belt and road initiative as well as the European countries and the United States.
