After the general election in November 2015, Mauricio Macri, the new Argentina president brought a large number of bankers, traders, financiers, entrepreneurs and economists into his cabinet.
Argentine economy has been suffering from state intervention for the last ten years, resulting in uncontrollable inflation and stagnant economic growth; therefore we are of the view that Macri's move is very beneficial to Argentina.
Macri wants to undo the intervention policy as soon as possible.
His officials have already cancelled the restriction on the purchase of dollar, allowed free trading of Argentine peso and cut government spending.
In the future, we expect Macri to maintain high interest rate while tighten up monetary policy in order to curb inflation, attract foreign investors, increase employment rate as well as regain the confidence of international investors.
