Migrant Workers Alone Cannot Solve Poverty
ANBOUND

The economic development in China has long been plagued by poverty.

In recent years, one of the important measures taken by the local governments in reducing poverty in the underdeveloped regions is to encourage their villagers to migrate to bigger cities.

ANBOUND's research team is of the view that poverty is not merely about wealth, but rather the deprivation of the 'potentials’.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

China should eradicate poverty from its root cause and this cannot be achieved by transferring the migrant workers as this is merely a short-term tactics which might be detrimental to the economy in the long run.
