Last year, China's direct investment in the United States was USD 15.7 billion of which greenfield investment accounted for USD 1.8 billion.

While some market players think that this is a game-changing event in China-US relationship, ANBOUND’s scholars are of the view that the role of China’s investment should not be exaggerated, not only that the Chinese enterprises are going abroad from a higher level, the more important reason is that the domestic environment for real economy has taken a worse turn resulting in the high quality investment to go abroad.
