ANBOUND's scholars point out that the review of the urbanization progress in China shows that while rapid urbanization has created vast city assets, it also increases the city’s cost tremendously and the corresponding side effects were not anticipated, or worse still, being neglected as the typical "promote-economic-growth-vide-urbanization" mentality had purposely ignored and/or refused to take advices from others.

When the rapid, chaotic “feast” of urbanization came to an end, we were astonished by the big problems caused by the urbanization to the subsequent economic development in China.

This is also next big challenge that China needs to digest and deal with.
