ANBOUND: Vietnam Communist Party's 12th National Congress : the Fight between the Pro-Chinese and Pr
ANBOUND

The 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Communist Party which began on 21st January at the country's capital, Hanoi saw a power tussle among the new leaders.

ANBOUND’S research team believes that the fight between the Pro-Chinese and Pro-US fraction is something worth noting during the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Communist Party but this is not the core point.

The bilateral relation which was established based on the Vietnam and China’s common interest in ideology has changed gradually as both countries have placed their nation’s interests above everything.

Since the national interest always comes first, realism will be the golden standard in measuring the foreign policy, then why should China be so obsessed and caught with the mentality of "pro-Chinese or pro-American"

The relations between Vietnam and the United States will continue to deepen as a result of the “Asia-Pacific Rebalancing” strategy. There will be a more profound challenge to the relations between China and Vietnam.
