Some thoughts on Hong Kong's Relationship With the Belt and Road Strategy
ANBOUND

In an effort to find economic growth point, Hong Kong has been active in aligning its strategy with the "Belt and Road" strategy.

ANBOUND's research team points out that the prosperity in Hong Kong’s economy depends not only on the strong support from mainland’s economy, but also Hong Kong’s ability to deal with the world’s market freely.

In determining its future direction, being a free economy, Hong Kong should not follow the footstep of mainland China’s government by keeping a really close eye on the nation’s policy and strategy.

Hong Kong should ponder more on what are the key recipes to its success of becoming the world trade and financial center. More thoughts should be given on what are the unique features that make Hong Kong a distinguished place and how to avoid Hong Kong from being replaced by mainland cities and neighboring economies such as Singapore and South Korea.
