Land Acquisition for SEZs, Significant to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor
ANBOUND

In collaboration with Pakistani provincial governments, the Pakistani Board of Investment has initiated the process of land acquisitions for the establishment of 27 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

ANBOUND's research team is of the view that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is facing various geopolitical challenges including whether Pakistan has true understanding on its relationship with China. Besides, the political system in Pakistan also determines the complexity of the relationship between Pakistan and China. In addition to the mismatch of both parties’ expectations on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the security situation within Pakistan will also determine the success or failure of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The land acquisition for the 27 Special Economic Zones marks a good start for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and is of great significance.
