Beijing city has taken temporary "protective" measure to suspend the supply of natural gas to the industrial enterprises.

ANBOUND's research team points out the following three points can be derived from the this year’s curtailment on the natural gas supply :-

(i)It is an uphill task to ensure the natural gas usage in Beijing city;

(ii)Beijing city is still weak in terms of its capability to secure sufficient natural gas to meet the city’s winter need; and

(iii)PetroChina still needs to work on its ability to deal with emergency situation.
