It is reported that the Chinese government has decided to build six to eight nuclear power plants annually under the 13th Five-Year Plan which is due to commence in 2016.

Anbound' research team is of the view that, at current stage, it is hard for China to "promote the safe and efficient development of nuclear power".

Anbound has been urging China to stay vigilant on its nuclear strategy and that China should never build nuclear plants in inland regions.

However, now it seems like the decision makers are moving towards the opposite direction.

Against the backdrop of the accelerated efforts to build nuclear plants, the risk associated with the nuclear development in China is worth the attention.
