Chan Kung

A recent BBC report has revealed the infighting and rivalry among the Talibans. According to the report, after the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, it was announced that a new temporary government would be formed by the top Taliban leaders. A source revealed that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the co-founder of the Taliban, had a heated argument with Refugee Minister Khalil ur-Rahman Haqqani, and their supporters also fought nearby.

It is reported that Baradar is dissatisfied with the structure of the temporary government, coupled with differences within the Taliban on who should take credit for the recapture of Afghanistan. Baradar is said to leave Kabul for Kandahar after the argument. According to sources, Baradar is expected to return to Kabul and may appear in front of the camera to deny any disputes. The Taliban also insisted that there was no dispute and said that Baradar is safe.
