Although there are numerous public-private partnership (PPP) projects being launched by the government at various levels, the continued downward trend in China's economy suggests that the PPP projects have limited success.

Anbound’s research team is of the view that the main reason of PPP’s failure to revitalize the economic growth is because the shadow of planned economy hangs over the PPP project – instead of the market, government remains the decision maker when it comes to the direction of the investment.

Government should give up on promoting the PPP projects, efforts should be focused on the implementation of market oriented reform to ensure the steady stabilization of China’s economy.
