The rally known as Bersih 4.0 which was held in Malaysia from 29th August to 30th August, was the fourth large-scale social movement organised by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections.

Anbound's research team points out that there are a few new features of this rally.

Firstly, the increase of Malay participants. Secondly, the interaction between the social movement in Malaysia and the social movement in Hong Kong and Taiwan and the ability of the Malaysian authority in handling the rally. Thirdly, the role of social media to bring enlightenment to the folk, particularly the Malay.

Social movement in Malaysia is showing the trend of convergence between different ethnic groups and this could have important impact on the future politics in Malaysia.
