The overall electricity usage by the society, one of the important indicators in the Keqiang Index, has again shown negative growth in July.

Anbound's research team is of the view that the unexpected negative growth in electricity usage could be attributed partly to the relatively low temperatures and rainy weather. The negative growth in electricity usage also reflects largely the weak economic recovery in China particularly the setback in the industrial economy.

In order to meet the excepted growth target, more should be done to strengthen the steady growth policy.
