Anbound's scholars point out that the environmental protection efforts during the first half of this year have exceeded the target due to the following reasons.

Firstly, the strengthening of the law enforcement in relation to environmental protection and the ongoing energy conservation efforts.

Secondly, the weak economy has lowered the production of the enterprises and hence there was less carbon emission.

This kind of emissions reduction driven by weak economy might not be a good phenomenon.
