China Shouldn't Be over Optimistic about Banking System’s Ability to Handle Stress
ANBOUND

The result of Chinese banks' ability to handle stress published by the central bank shows that the banking system has relatively strong ability to deal with credit risks. However, ANBOUND research team doesn’t think so. The test is done in hypothesized environment. Judging by the current economic structure and economic growth quality, once the GDP growth rate is lower than 4%, the economic system will probably collapse and all kinds of risks will rapidly spread and become magnified. Whether the banking system can endure macro economic impact is hard to say. Thus, China shouldn’t be too optimistic about its domestic banking system’s ability to handle pressure and should be well prepared in policies.
