In China's "One Belt and One Road" initiative, ASEAN is considered as a key region and lies on the route of “Maritime Silk Road”. ANBOUND thus warns that some ASEAN members have already shown their postures of “younger rivals”. Their competitions on industries, investments, and consumer markets will apparently affect China’s future strategy. The government now needs to cautiously calculate the potential challenges posted by ASEAN members when China is under the uplifted banner of “One Belt and One Road”.
