Falling of Electricity Consumption Growth Rate Indicates Pressure of Economic Slowdown
ANBOUND

According to data published by China National Energy Administration on April 16th, electricity consumption of the first quarter increased by 0.8% year on year. The growth rate is 4.6 percent less than the same period last year. In the opinion of ANBOUND research team, the obvious fall of electricity consumption growth rate shows the pressure of economic and industrial slowdown. The best example is that in the first quarter this year, Chinese GDP growth rate is 7%, which is the lowest in the same period since the financial crisis in 2009.
