Will America's Block of Chip Sales to China Stimulate Chinese Chip Production?

The U.S. Department of Commerce decided to block sales of XEON chips to four Chinese national supercomputer centers. ANBOUND think tank scholars hold that America is doing this to respond to China's limitation on American enterprises in terms of information security since last year. This incident will affect relevant negotiations of information and communication technology between China and America and once again discloses China’s shortcoming in manufacture of large scale Integrated circuit. It might stimulate China to invest more in chip production sector, but it isn’t easy to catch up with advanced chip industry.
