On April 6, a PX chemical plant in China exploded. This isn't the first time of such explosive. ANBOUND think tank scholars point out that the Chinese public’s sustained opposition to the PX project, China’s great demand of PX and Chinese market’s dependence on imported "PX produced a malformed relationship. This awkward situation, which is hard to get rid of, is the PX curse". However, the technology and management level of domestic chemical industry, instead of the toxicity of PX, is the real source of “PX curse”.
