Recently, the market says that Renminbi would be added to IMF's special drawing right (SDR) currency basket. In the opinion of ANBOUND think tank scholars, whether RMB can join SDR might be clear this year. Judging from the IMF director and Chinese premier’s statements, everything is ready, all that needed is an east wind. If RMB is included in SDR, it will bring new requirements of capital account convertibility reform,which means relevant reforms should be carried out soon, even within this year.
