China has entered a new phase of tackling local government debts, which engenders increasing pressure and the urgency of studying and establishing Bankruptcy Law of Local governments. But ANBOUND research team points out that viewing from current situation, China has not yet been ready to realize the bankruptcy of local governments, which requires preconditions of major reforms in political and financial rights of local governments in China.
