What Kind of Community Banks Are Needed in China?
ANBOUND

While there are positive points in China's community banks in terms of business innovation, for the time being they can still hardly get rid of the constraints from exiting banking system for their development. A genuine innovative system can’t be formed to shape the current structure dominated by just a few major banks. ANBOUND research team considers that what China is in need of are those community banks that are truly independent and spontaneous, rather than the current community bank branches contributed by the expansion of bank businesses. A genuine community bank signals the maturity of specialized labor division in financial industry, and also represents a relative fairness in a country’s financial system.
