Graduated from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Ph.D. in economics, and postdoctoral of Tsinghua University.
Chief Economist in many financial institutions, incl. economic observer, Minsheng wealth, Sina think tank, financial consultant of many local governments.
He has been engaged in postdoctoral research in the post doctoral station of management science and engineering, School of public management, Tsinghua University, and served as the director of the energy and climate change project of the national conditions research center. In September 2008, he received first-class funding from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation meeting project; in December 2008, he received the first batch of special funding from China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He was awarded the title of outstanding postdoctoral of Tsinghua University in 2008. In 2013, he won the honorary titles of "top ten young economists", "China young financial scholars Award", and "outstanding postdoctoral of Tsinghua University".
Member of the new supply economics 50 Member Forum, academic member of the International Monetary Institute (IMI) of Renmin University of China. He is the graduate cooperation instructor of School of economics and management of Tsinghua University and Hanqing Research Institute of Renmin University of China, and the post doctoral workstation cooperation instructor of China oceanwide group.

Dr. Guan Qingyou has been engaged in economic and financial theoretical research for a long time. He has unique opinions on macro policy and reform, financial market, world energy pattern, energy security and energy policy, oil price fluctuation cycle, climate change and carbon currency, etc. He was one of the earliest scholars in China who systematically discussed the oil dollar pricing and settlement system and its impact.
