After the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, on May 14, Zhu Xueqin published a short comment on the earthquake "God’s punishment" in the Southern Metropolis Daily: "Is this God’s punishment? The victims are not the perpetrators. It's not a curse. Why do you want to crack the big earthquake on Buddha's birthday? Those who love China should mourn for it. Snow disaster in South China, traffic accident in Shandong, earthquake in Sichuan, noise in chixian should be sober up. The flame should be stopped, the national flag should be lowered, just once for the people. They are not great people, but remains. There are tens of millions of remains, but no words. " As a result of the publication of this article in the commentary section of Southern Metropolis Daily, relevant editors were suspended from their work, and the "personal comments" section was also suspended.
"Zhu Xueqin: another 'Wang Hui' in academia?" This is a series of long articles published on the internet by Isaiah. In six articles, Isaiah pointed out through comparison that Zhu Xueqin, a professor and well-known scholar of Shanghai University, was suspected of plagiarism in his early doctoral thesis "Destruction of The Moral Ideal State".
Zhu Xueqin said that the issue of academic norms should be identified by authoritative academic institutions, not judged by the internet and mass media. He hoped that he would face the investigation of academic institutions. During the self-inspection, he found that Isaiah's accusation of "plagiarism" was groundless.
Zhu Xueqin claims that since he has submitted the issue to the academic institutions for investigation and arbitration, he will certainly be prepared for another psychological situation. "Once there is a conclusion that is not good for me, I will accept it," he said. "Without notice from my university, I will automatically hand over the hard-earned doctorate certificate of that year and leave it in the history office of my alma mater to warn future generations. If plagiarism is established, my self-esteem will drive me to resign, and my face will not be so thick, and I will not stay here in the roll eyes of my peers, especially students. "
Fudan announced on January 12, 2011 that the investigation conclusion of suspected plagiarism of academic papers "Has shortcomings, but not plagiarism."
