Vice President of the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations and Director of its Institute of American Studies.

Education

He earned his PhD in World History in 1997 from Northeast Normal University. He was once a visiting scholar at the Atlantic Council (1999-2000) and Brookings Institution (2003-2004).

Experience

Previously, he served as CICIR’s Vice President and Director of CICIR’s Institute of American Studies. He has been engaged in American studies for decades, particularly focusing on U.S. foreign policy, Sino-U.S. relations and Asia-Pacific security.

He was elected to be Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of International Relations, Executive Director of Chinese Society of American Studies and Executive Director of All China Association for Taiwan Studies.

He is the author or editor of several books such as American Think-Tanks and Their Attitudes toward China (Current Affairs Press, 2003), China and the U.S. Accommodating in the Asia Pacific: China, America and the Third Parties (Current Affairs Press, 2013), From Westphalia to a New World Order (China CITIC Press, 2016).
