Main Opnions

If China started TPP negotiations, it would be a long process for China and the United States to reach a consensus on this issue. However, it could be said that the current change of attitude between China and the United States was a very noteworthy change in both China US relations and the world economic situation.

On October 26, 2019, the opening ceremony of "Reading China" Guangzhou International Conference was held in Guangzhou. Zheng Yongnian, a professor at the East Asia Institute of the National University of Singapore, said that after the reform and opening up, China lifted 800 million people out of poverty, which was a great miracle and has made great contributions to the world. At present, China has moved from quantitative economic growth to qualitative economic development. The construction of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Bay area was a good new starting point and could actively promote a new round of economic globalization.

Controversy

In Zheng's view, the lack of knowledge system to understand itself and explain itself was the crux of China's successful transformation into a modern society. In the process of studying China's problem, Zheng's biggest lament came from this: "Not only China, but also Asia as a whole are facing this problem, which is a kind of ideological" colonization "
