In the midst of U.S.-China trade conflicts, the global supply chain looks to be divided into "China" and "non-China". To overcome this situation, China must reform its business environment and cultivate the domestic market to attract foreign investments. Anbound researcher has suggested that the framework of foreign investments should be improved to attract foreign investors into businesses, productions and sales in China. Anbound researchers also underline the importance of transparent and predictable policies that reduce the complexity of applications and assessments, increase the communication with foreign corporations and focus on cultivating consumer markets at home. At the same time, the government shall guide enterprises and capitals that are moving out of China. >>
The impact of China's reforms is affecting expectations and sentiments of foreign investors. As Anbound pointed out previously, the trade war between U.S. and China has escalated beyond its initial stage to become an all-out corporate and financial wars. Risk factors have also changed the expectations of foreign investors and they have begun to shift production out of China. Although the total amount of foreign capital attracted by China has not decreased, the deterioration of the trade and investment environment has given rise to a structural withdrawal of foreign capitals, and the consequent migration of the industrial chain also brings about a significant impact. The opening and prospective prosperity of China's market cannot be achieved without the participation of foreign capitals. >>
Within the last two years, a number of Chinese financial officials in the government agencies have been under investigation because of corruption, and this cannot be regarded as purely incidental. This is actually an indication to reflect the problems in the policy-natured financial system. China's economic development, regardless of whether the macro policy is loose or cautious, most of the time the financial resources are still scarce due to multiple obstructions in the market. This makes policy banks with special-policy financial resources to have become the target of multi-party lobbying. The Chinese government's goal-oriented and "administrative economy" system are too easily generate rivalries in contesting for policy-based financial resources and evolving into rent-seeking behavior. >>
The global economy and capital markets are becoming increasingly fragile. Measures of monetary easing adopted by central banks around the world would have limited impact on the economy, and hardly reverse the global economic downturn. Looking at the performance in capital markets, any further global monetary easing will be unable to prevent a series of consequences brought about by the intensification of international trade friction. Anbound outlined that the global easing might not bring about a general increase in global capital markets in the future; rather it is likely to result in more imbalanced capital flows within global financial sectors. Uncertainty in the global economy will also lead to capital flows and financial market volatility, increasing the possibility of new financial and economic crises. >>
